Toughened and laminated safety glass

What is toughened safety glass?
• This is a product that has fantastic longevity whilst being at least 5 times stronger than normal glass. A special heat treatment ensures the strength and durability of the glass is vastly increased. We can supply a range of thicknesses from 4mm-19mm to suit your needs. Toughened safety glass can be used for a huge host of different purposes including: shower screens/cubicles, splash backs, critical safety areas (e.g. doors, areas below 800mm), greenhouses, table tops, window panes, glass roofs, balustrades and more. We can also incorporate polished edges for ornamental purposes (e.g. shelves) and cut holes into it to fit extractor fans and cat flaps, to name a few. If broken, the glass will smash into small, blunt pieces as opposed to shards of sharp glass.
What is laminated safety glass?
• Laminated glass requires the process of adding two sheets of glass with an interlayer bonding them together. This type of glass usually offers increased insulation and resistance from shock, thanks to the double-layer. We can supply a range of thicknesses from 6.4mm-21.5mm to suit your needs. If broken, the glass will not break into shards, but will be kept together by this interlayer. Laminated safety glass can be used for a range of different purposes as well including: critical safety areas (e.g. doors, areas below 800mm), window panes, glass roofs, some balustrades (if incorporated with toughened), shop fronts, partition walls and more
